| | I thought Bruce was very stand up about the whole deal. I'm not sainyg his decisions and/or lineups were appropriate but at least he was a man and owned up. He was incredibly articulate about defending the Caps style of play (playoffs or not) and I believed him! I also loved what Fehr (I think) had to say post game. Very solid guy. But unfortunately from the interviews that I saw, that is about it. Lot's of whining, lot's of complaining and lot's of woulda, coulda and the ole shoulda's. Wasn't this the best team during the regular season? Did they forget how to play? Maybe the Fake 8 was still feeling the heat from letting the entire Soviet Union (for hockey purposes) down during the Olympics? Maybe the Lame 8 is overrated? I know that is blasphemy in the nations capital, but hear me out. The good Great 8, is an extremely talented player who is flat out sick. His moves, passion and artistry on the ice, are mostly unmatched. He's jovial, long winded and very approachable when the team is doing well. Unfortunately, your Captain also has an evil twin brother. This bad Fake 8 doesn't know what to say, and doesn't have words when asked about a defeat that should never have happened. While his very comments, are what cost the Caps from moving on. He provided locker room material for the Habs and Halak is the one, who took them most to heart. Halak then proceeds to turn away 130 something shots out of your 130 shots in the 3 deciding games. Good move C. If your teammates had the stones, they would single you out and say this very same thing. But, that would mean playing elsewhere during the 10/11 campaign. The other bad news is that, it appears the Fake 8 flat out lies when he talks about not meaning knee to knee contact that was meant to inflict injury and other flagrant attempts to take out other players. Be a man Fake 8. It's ok to have a little nasty style about your game but for crying out loud, at least own it. Embrace the fact that you are dirty and defend the right to play that way. Make the point that it's the refs job to make the calls. It is their obligation, and you are mostly playing within the rules. Don't be the Fake 8 that you are. Grow some red Russian stones and admit that you are an incredible goon with skills. For any unbiased hockey fan, this is obvious. It's so easy, even a caveman could see it. Continue to come up short when it matters most, that is what you do best. |

United we stand, divided we fall. This adage has been with us since generations. As boundaries diffuse in this ever-shrinking world, unity becomes even more necessary. Only when we unite in spirit, can we truly cope with the challenges we face. |
